How many times until you shouldn't paint the wall anymore?

I'm thinking of adding a different color to my walls, but what if other tenants did it too? Wouldnt it just become a huge physical layer after so many paintings?How many times until you shouldn't paint the wall anymore?
I have painted walls in 100year old homes there is no limit to how many coats

Yes, it will, and probably will start to crack and peel.





I would say maximum coats, 4 is the limit, unless you sand down the wall to the bare.

As long as it's not peeling or flaking then paint away.


I have about six coats of paint or more in my house.
