What is the best way to paint wrought iron railings? Brush or spray?

I';m changing colors, so I think I will need to use a DTM primer as well. What is the best way to paint wrought iron railings? Brush or spray?
Depends on how much you have to paint? I painted for a few years and had a private tennis court to paint, let me tell you I learned. Tried the brush was way to slow, tried spraying and to much over spray, waste. I found that they have gloves that you put on your hands and stick right in the paint and use your hands gets in corners and not much waste. That was my last experience at something like that!!Good Luck ~:()xWhat is the best way to paint wrought iron railings? Brush or spray?
I allways use spray paint.. Its easier. Try stripping the old paint first though and apply a coat of primer then paint.
For the primer, a brush coat would be effective, dabbing it in cranies that spray might only cover lightly, but for the cover coat, I've found spray not just the easiest but the best way to cover wrought iron; although 2 coats might be required, waiting for the initial coat to dry. Use painter's tape and newspaper to mask anything you don't want to get paint on it first.
spray... u wont haf to deal w/ paint marks... like those strokes u know? n its fun too...
You probably only need to do numbers 3-5 unless you have rust.

1. Rub the rusted sections with kerosene, and scour with fine-grade steel wool until you reach bare metal. For persistent spots, reapply the kerosene and leave it on long enough to loosen the rust.

2. Sand the edges of the bare spots to make a smooth transition between them and the surrounding painted sections.

3. Rinse the piece to remove all dust, and wipe it with an absorbent towel. Let the piece sit until it's thoroughly dry.

4. Spray with a rust-inhibiting primer, according to the product's instructions. Follow with a rust-resistant spray paint.

5. Allow the paint to dry for a day or two. Then, using a soft cloth, rub the piece of furniture with car wax.

Overall Tips:

Once a year, wipe down iron with white vinegar (no need to rinse) and follow with a coat of car wax.
Brush, if you're a painter. Spray if you're not.

Good paint w/good brush will smooth out, leaving no brush strokes.
A brush will deffinitely be harder and may leave un-natural looking brush marks. Try a spray and then a clearcoat over that.
what do you mean by best?

Best result or easiest method?

Easiest method is a weenie roller and it yeilds excellent results

Don't use an airless sprayer unless you get a little help ...form someone who knows
