Is there any sort of paint thinner that can be used to remove paint off of an electric Guitar?

I have an old electric guitar that I am in the process of repainting. I have removed most of the paint by sanding but cannot sand out the details. Is there any sort of paint thinner that I can use to remove the remaining paint WITHOUT damaging the wood?Is there any sort of paint thinner that can be used to remove paint off of an electric Guitar?
Any paint stripper for furniture should work, since they're designed not to damage wood. Just be very careful not to get it into any of the electrical parts. Wear gloves, and if you can, do it outside, the fumes can be pretty awful.Is there any sort of paint thinner that can be used to remove paint off of an electric Guitar?
