Also how bad is this for my health? fumes? and I'm not particularily sensitive in my nose. So it must be really bad right? It's been roughly a month since it was painted. These are the things I have already tried ; I have tried Vinegar in open containers, Vinegar poured on white bread, Lighting Candles, leaving the windows open for 2 straight days, ';Smells Begone'; odor absorber. Thanks so much for any help...How can I get the smell of paint (even though it's dry) out of my apartment?
sounds like you have already done everything you can... just be patient, or make a note of the brand and type of paint and do not buy it next time!
There are low-smell paints available. How can I get the smell of paint (even though it's dry) out of my apartment?
You need to leave two windows open at all times until the smell disappears in about two weeks or so. One window on the east side and one window on the west side to provide for an in/out breeze to sweep through the apartment all the time...
You can also think about purchasing an air purifier, such as the one sold by sharper image.....
Well you're doing the right things, when I painted I just made sure that I left the windows open as constantly as I could, spray airfreshener every once in awhile etc. It should be getting better if its been a month already.
you can open all the windows in u'r apartment that's how mine got out but mine was a house.
get an Ionic breeze thing
open a window, put some fans on...just curculate the air in your apartment as much as possible.
Get some spray the smell good or one of does candles the smell good :) and yea let your windows open.
Open a window and let it air out
Go and get the cheapest CLEAR vanilla extract that you can find. Dilute the vanilla with water in a spray bottle and spray around.
i like the smell of fresh paint. if its latex, theres no fumes to worry about. oil based ,i cant say for sure
There shouldn't be an odor lasting that long.
I would cross ventilate for 3 days or so and see if it improves.
It takes time. the most important thing is that you have ventilation so the fumes can leave. Until the covering it up is all you can do. But give it a week or so and you'll barely notice it.
Febreeze It!!!
Try putting fans around the house pointing towards the windows while there open .
