How do I get scuff marks and dirt off the walls and doors without removing the paint?

I live in a standard apartment and all my walls and doors are painted with flat, white paint. But there are little scuffs on the walls and dirt around the light switches and doorknobs. I've tried to clean them off with multi-purpose cleaner, and plain old water, but the paint still comes off. those magic erasers took off my paint and left my scuffs! Be very careful. If you have a matte finish, the erasers will probably hurt your paint.





You apartment is probably like mine where they used cheap, industrial paint. You may just be stuck with it. When I move out, I plan on asking if they want me to paint over the scuffs or what. I suspect they will do those touch up themselves since that is normal wear and tear.
I LOVE THE MAGIC ERASER!!!!!!!!!! you have to try it!!!..just be carefull b/c when i used it on my brown walls it changed the paint color a bit!! =( but im sure the white will work wonders!!! everyone i know love them!!!!!!!!!

Simple:


Use a wet wash cloth, and the dirt and crumby stuff will rub right now.

i found that Mr. Clean Magic Eraser works well on scuffs on painted surfaces.

I had that problem today, and i just painted over them
I use a normal school eraser.
I would paint over it, or use some oxy clean.

you really can't with ';contractors'; flat white paint !!! i tried !! just paint the wall !!
