How long did Leonardo Da Vinci typically take to paint a portrait?

It is said that Leonardo Da Vinci took four years to paint the Mona Lisa. Can anyone tell me whether that was typical or unusual for Leonardo Da Vinci?

Thanks in advance! How long did Leonardo Da Vinci typically take to paint a portrait?
A small painting took at least six months... simply for the techniques used at the time. Many, many layers, and glazes were used, and each could take up to two weeks to dry.

And of course, the WHOLE process was much longer, as the materials had to be sourced - and paints made yourself. How long did Leonardo Da Vinci typically take to paint a portrait?
typically about 2.... seconds =) hahaha jk i honestly have no clue
It usually took 2 to 4 years to paint small pieces back then as you had to physically make your own paint, and supplies.

Large murals typically took 10.
