Navy Blue, Chocolate brown, Tangerine for example. They are all flat finish. I want to return them to an off-white flat finish. Iam willing to prime first, but I've done three coats of primer in one room and it still isn't white! Any suggestions on technique or brands?
Thanks,
CraigHow do I cover over a DARK paint color wall?
u have to prime the wall first i think, so it will be like having to paint it twice, otherwise, the dark will show or make ur light color a different color than its supposed to beHow do I cover over a DARK paint color wall?
Kilz.... or Bin.. I heard is good. I've used the Kilz, orginal... it works really well on dark dark choc. brown.. Now Kilz makes their own paint now as well. WalMart is carring it. It's very thick. But if u'r wanting to make it anthr color other than white... since u have used several coats already... then try Kilz paints.
try block mate a heavy white you can paint over later after it dryes
In your store that you buy paint at there should be a cover up paint that you can buy to cover that. I can't think of the proper name, but I have bought it before and ';usually'; covers in one coat of paint.
Is the primer you used of the the stain blocker type . If not , you
really should get some ! I think Zinsser primer sealer stain
killer is one of the best out there for the toughest jobs and sticks to just about anything . You will not have to look any
further if you buy this one . I personally have cut through the
chase and pretty much buy this one for all needs except on
new sheet rock where it is not needed .
dark colors like that are hard to do but it can be done..
youve primed the walls over an over..try a coat of paint then prime over it when that dris..each coat dries of course..then go over the walls again with a few more coats..this should work good luck
Dark colored paint would need a white primer first, before you paint in the light color. Otherwise the dark would still bleed through. Or you could spend the time painting the room with 3 or four coats of the color you want it to be. lol. Good luck!
Just my 2 cents.
Ask the hardware store, Lowes or something.
