I second the orange with fuchsia! I saw this done on HGTV once with a Bollywood themed makeover. I fell in love with the colors, and if I ever have a daughter (I now have two sons), this is how I will decorate her room...LOVE it!Fuchsia with what other color to paint my room?
i would try to repaint the whole room, just start from scratch, go to your local walmart store and look at there paint sample cards, bring a few home and choose the one you like, it takes very little time to repaint a room and is a lot of fun, i would avoid to bright colors, most people get bored with those fast. walmart sells a color place indoor paint that i use that is wonderful. if you want to cover that paint you will have to go with a darker shade of color, but personally since you are a collage age, i would choose a darker shade to cover the walls without having to prime over it to cover it. and you can paint your room for about 40.00 or less so that is the best way to go, just start over and repaint the whole room. change the bed spread on your bed and maybe a new curtain sheer, and make yourself some new pillows ,you can have a whole new room for less than a hundred dollars, happy painting.
I felt the same when i finished high school and wanted something a bit more funky and trendy. I was stuck for Inspiration though. Someone suggested that I write down all of my favourite things and things that make me happy. On that list was gerbra's (you know the flowers?). I loved the bright colours. My fave's were the pink and orange so I decided to go with that. I had a fuchsia feature wall and a burnt orange on the other walls.
I was so happy with the end result - it was the most awesome room! I had all matching wooden furniture which looked great but I think that the off white furniture you have will look fresh and funky.
i think off white is a great color to go with fushia.. just think... 2 walls are fushia and 2 walls are off white such a combination is too great or you can go for 3 walls off white and 1 wall fushia with fuchsia carpet and off white curtains with fuchsia lining and trimmings..
the room will at once look cool, open and very fresh.. you are growing up into an adult now so dont go for too funky things as it will bore you soon and too bright colors will seem over for you in a few months time.. choose wisely..
i just painted my room a tree frog green color, it was bright pink before, not my style, it was a little bright before but used some off white furniture and a striped shag rug with different colors and polka dot sheets that has a little of my color of the walls in them looks pretty good to me.lol
try polka dots or check theme as you don't want kiddo stuff anymore. choose 3 colors for the room of your choice and mix n match around it.
yellow, orange, red goes well with white. so does green and blue. the choice is totally yours.
Orange and fuchsia go great together. It would be very colorful and bright.
Baby blue
Black or grey would look awesome!
I like purple with aqua or lime green. Think about those!
